\
S**ide:** Select the side you want the bot to open trades. Note, you can create the same configuration for longs and shorts at the same time. \
**Symbol:** Select the pair(s) you want to trade. You can only have 1 bot per account per symbol. For example: You can’t run BTC on a Signal bot and on a Liquidation bot at the same time on the same account.\
\
**Risk profile:** This is a user defined label that allows you to toggle between multiple configurations (risk profiles) on the same pair(s) for the same account. Risk profiles are set on the Create Bot page and the webhooks can be found on the Signal Wizard page. Webhooks can be sent to switch risk profiles based on the current market or how you want to trade at that time.&#x20;

# Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA)

How to configure Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) with Wick Hunter.

{% hint style="info" %}
All DCA values are rounded to meet the minimum amount required by the exchange. This could result in the platform rounding above your input value. Please refer to the exchange you are trading on and their minimum order sizes.
{% endhint %}

You can choose between 3 different DCA types: Scaled, Manual and Liquidation&#x20;

![Scaled DCA](/files/RcIKFYP782UHL3CjsPEf)

For scaled you define how your DCA increases every level. \
\
**Max active orders:** Define the maximum amount of active orders that are placed on the exchange. For example, if you have 5 DCA and input "1" here then only 1 will DCA will be active and placed on the exchange. Once the first DCA is filled the second will be placed and so on. \
\
**Base size type:** You can choose between Dollar and Percentage. Note: percent is based on TOTAL account balance and not based on available balance. \
\
**Entry size:** This is your position size, so not margin based. Example: if you select Dollar and enter 100, a $100 position will be opened. \
\
**Order type:** Market, Limit or Post only. Market will open an order directly for the current market value Limit and Post only will place an order in the orderbook and will follow until it is filled. \
\
***Number orders:*** maximum number of DCA’s.\
&#x20;\
**Price deviation:** Input the percent from your entry price you want your first DCA to be placed. For example, if you input 1% and enter a short trade at a price of $100 then the bot will place a DCA at $101. \
\
**Step scale:** Input the multiplier for your second DCA as far as percent from your original entry price. For example, if your first DCA is placed 1% away and you use "2" here then the next DCA will be placed 2% away from your first DCA and the next will be placed 4% away and so on. \
\
**Volume scale:** Input the multiplier for the size of your DCA. For example, if you input "2" here and your first DCA is $100 then your second DCA will be $200.

![Manual DCA](/files/o1qfHhr6SBo4eYo0RVMt)

For manual you can define every dca by hand.\
\
**Max active orders:** Define the maximum amount of active orders that are placed on the exchange. For example, if you have 5 DCA and input "1" here then only 1 will DCA will be active and placed on the exchange. Once the first DCA is filled the second will be placed and so on. \
\
**Size:** Enter the desired amount in dollars or percentage. \
\
**Size Type:** Select whether you want to use a value in dollars (USD) or a percent of your total account for each trade. Note: percent is based on TOTAL account not based on available balance. \
\
**Percent from Entry:** enter the percentage from your entry where this DCA should run. \
\
**Order Type:** Select the order type you want to use. Limit and Post Only will follow the orderbook until they are filled. Market will open immediately. \
\
Press the ADD button and repeat this for each DCA you want to define.

![Liquidation DCA](/files/7OKRZIuQttho8SqDEGtz)

Liquidation DCA based on liquidations means that a liquidation needs to occur in the defined range. The bot will not DCA without a liquidation event! \
\
**Sources:** Select the source(s) of liquidation you would like considered to enter a trade. Note, VWAP and Volume will be based off the exchange you are trading. For example, if you are using Bybit USDT and have Binance selected here, it will use the VWAP and Min/Max volume from Bybit USDT but will add in Binance liquidation events. \
\
**Minimum Liquidation Size:** Enter the minimum liquidation in dollars (USD) that must occur prior to consider opening a position. \
\
**Use VWAP’s:** When turned on you can define a vwap size, timeframe and period.

**Range start:** Input the percent from your current entry price you want a DCA range to begin. For example, if you input 5% here then you will not get any DCA until current price is 5% away from your average entry price. \
\
**Range end:** Input the percent from your current entry price you want a DCA range to end. For example, if your DCA range starts at 5% and ends at 10% then you will have X ("Number of Orders") buys that are possible when current price is 5% to 10% away from your average entry price. \
\
**Size:** Enter the desired amount in dollars or percentage. \
\
**Size Type:** Select whether you want to use a value in dollars (USD) or a percent of your total account for each trade. Note: percent is based on TOTAL account not based on available balance. \
\
**Number of orders:** Input the maximum number of DCAs you want if your VWAP (if enabled) and liquidation conditions are met for the particular range you are creating.

# Take Profit (TP)

How to configure Take Profit (TP) with Wick Hunter.

![Take Profit settings](https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/7hGaFhNQaQkchqBqNG_XmYwnxUtBdLBIQaO0V_SZ7DT7TXglo8rNTGlZb3YFgZo4KRCsN6VHv_zVjuc5DgO5pntWRqQKLgHGdXpYyOYsha9wlO02GLfH_NG2fdYhyA_PGZ1K80_VVlOA8mkVv2U)

You can select multiple Take profit (TP) settings.&#x20;

**Single Take Profit** – Will let you be able to set one corresponding TP per deal. You can either exit this with PostOnly (guaranteed maker fee) or Limit orders. This TP is set on the exchange when a deal is opened.&#x20;

**Multiple Take Profit** - You are able to set multiple take profits. Especially useful when using  [laddered SL](/trading-bots/create-a-trading-bot/stop-loss-sl). for example. Per step you can set the desired closing % (in terms of closure of the deal) and at which profit% this should occur. For example you are able to close 50% of the deal at a 1% profit , after that 25% at 2% and the remaining 25% at 3%.&#x20;

**Trailing** - You can select the activation percentage. If set to to 1% the trailing will start at 1% TP from average entry price. If the trailing is set to 0.1% it will move the TP up as long as it doesn’t drop more then 0,1%. If it drops for 0,1% it will close the deal with a market order.&#x20;

![Example of trailing settings](/files/Sp7Idy7gwSy766xHp0YT)

# Stop Loss (SL)

How to configure Stop Loss (SL) with Wick Hunter.

{% hint style="info" %}
Stoploss orders will always be closed at market conditions
{% endhint %}

![Stop Loss settings](/files/bUo8EJJ4KoiclYxE6ccb)

There are two options for stop loss orders.&#x20;

***Below options are used in both settings***&#x20;

**Stop Loss Type** - Select what type of stop loss you want to use. Account Balance Loss is based on your total account value. Current Entry Price is based on your entry price including any DCAs. Initial Entry price is based on your original entry price and does not include the impact to price from any DCA.&#x20;

**Percent of position size** - Input the percent of your position you want covered by the order. 100% will cover your full position.&#x20;

**Stop loss percent** - Input your stop loss value in percent, measured from initial entry. For example, if you input "3" here and have a long with an average entry price of $100 then the stop loss will be placed at $97 or 3% away from entry.&#x20;

**Order type -** Select the order type you want to use. Limit and Post Only will follow the orderbook until they are filled. Market will open immediately. Please refer to the exchange for further information.&#x20;

## Single Stop Loss&#x20;

This will let you set an single sto loss based on above conditions. Single Stop Loss also includes the “Laddered mode”. This mode will let you enable to move the Stop Loss when an TP is hit (see Take profit on how to set up multiple TP’s). Ladder Mode allows you to move a stop loss if one (or more) of your take profits have been hit. \
SL buffer will add x.xx% to your average entry price.This allows users to add a certain percentage when your take profit moves the stop loss to entry price to help with the exchange fees. Ex. if your average entry price is $100 and TP1 is at $105 and your buffer is set at 1%, the SL will set at $101 when it hits TP1. Note, this only applies when your SL is moved to average entry price.

**Ladder mode -** Stoploss will be placed at your current entry price once this Take Profit is filled and will continue to move one level as each additional Take Profit is filled.&#x20;

Example: if this value is 1, then the stoploss will be placed at your average entry price when your first Take Profit is hit and will be moved to your first Take Profit level when your second Take Profit is hit etc.&#x20;

When using [multiple TP's](broken://pages/Mp2iQBP8NRUCOjkO1gku) the stoploss will moved to entry when TP1 is hit (at 1%), when TP2 is hit it will set the Stop loss to the TP1 setting. The Stop Loss will be set at 1% (TP setting of first TP) and will remain open with the 25% of the deal (as we close 50% at TP1 and 25% at TP2).

&#x20;

![Example of laddered mode](/files/iJ9biWQTnGUHNOeTkzcH)

**Average entry price** - Stoploss will be placed at your current entry price once this Take Profit is filled.&#x20;

Example: if this value is 2, when your second Take Profit is hit your stoploss will move to your average entry price.

## **Multiple Stoploss**&#x20;

You can set multiple stoploss percentage based on the percent of position size and stoploss percent.

# View Bots

View current Wick Hunter configurations using the View Bots page.

![View bots screen](/files/68RhXWpuVn79BmvUiNmH)

On the view bots screen you can view the defined bots per account. From here you have the option to edit the bot and also duplicate the bot. \
Duplicating the bot copies all your settings (TP, DCA, SL) which you then can use to create a new bot for a different account.

You can also define how many open positions you want, maximum open shorts and longs.\
Note: this does only applies to positions and does not affect your DCA orders.\
\
Hint: It may be easier to copy an old bot than make a new one :smile:

# Signal Wizard

Set up signals to trigger bots using the Signal Wizard.

The Signal Wizard will allow you to create signals to control Wick Hunter bots. These signals can then be used in TradingView alerts or anywhere a webhook can be generated.\
If you do not have a TradingView account you can get one [here](https://www.tradingview.com/gopro/?share_your_love=STP_Todd).&#x20;

You can send multiple signals in one webhook in the following syntax: `[{...}, {...}]`.\
&#x20;For example, `[{signal1}, {signal2}]` \
\
Real world example: `[{"cmd":"SET_RISK","uuid":"...","symbol":"","side":"","risk":"VERY_LOW"},{"cmd":"OPEN","uuid":"...","symbol":"ETHUSD","side":"SELL","risk":"LOW"}]` \
This would first change the risk, then open a position. \
\
**Important!** Signals that require sending orders to the exchange are not guaranteed to be executed sequentially. Delays may be needed if opening or closing signals in the same webhook.

# Dynamic configurations

based on TradingView signals

It is possible to send a full configuration via TradingView for your trade. \
This will allows users that have advanced indicators to use dynamic values for items such as TP and SL.

Case: Normally you could not set the price of your Take Profit or Stop Loss based on the value your indicator was telling you to do. However, now you have the ability to send your full configuration and use dynamic values.

**Example of how to implement:**

**Step 1:** Get the basic format from the Create Bots page. \
**Note**, you need to select only *one* pair and only *one* side for it to export! You can't select BOTH.

<figure><img src="/files/rqgmmewajvYJPIuS0cc1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In this example, I am entering with a $100 position on BTCUSDT, have 20x cross leverage, and a take profit value of $21,000. If the variable is going to be dynamic then just put a placeholder so you can export and later adjust.&#x20;

**Step 2:** Export the configuration json payload.

<figure><img src="/files/3hrLWyd7rVZZqdZfLpLC" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Step 3:** Edit Any Variables

<figure><img src="/files/xzB3u5lDzyxN8vc9cv6Q" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In this example, I have chosen to use {{plot 4}} as my value for take profit. In this scenario, Wick Hunter will open a position for $100, 20x cross leverage, and use the value from plot 4 to place a Take Profit at that value.

***Note:*** You need to send the full configuration, do **not** delete parts of it! The bot will use a full configuration over a saved configuration. This will allow users to use their indicators to have dynamic values for any variable in their configuration.

# FAQ - Signal Not Executed

Most common reasons for which a signal might not be executed.

There are various reasons for which a signal might not be executed. You will find the reason a signal was skipped in the [Logs](https://wickhunter.io/logs) page.

All of these error messages are shown when a signal is received but not executed. Sometimes, when the user incorrectly sets up a signal on Trading View, Wick Hunter does not receive the signal at all. This is due to various reasons explained in the FAQ section of the docs.

### Entry manager is disabled.

You can switch on and off Entry Manager (also referred to as Signals Manager) in the [View Bots](https://wickhunter.io/viewBots) page. When Entry Manager is disabled, no signal will be executed. It will be automatically disabled for accounts which are not under referral when an active subscription expires. When this happens, the user will need to manually switch it back on.&#x20;

### {PAIR} {SIDE} bot is either OFF or not created.

Signal was ignored as there is not an active bot for the pair and side received. For example, when a BTCUSDT BUY signal is received but there are no bots created or all of them are disabled, you will be shown this error message.&#x20;

### Insufficient balance for order cost.

You tried to create an order which is too large. You have not enough balance to cover for the order cost. Please note that, because of slippage and fees, using 100% of entry size is not guaranteed to work with MARKET orders. The exchange might reject an order when its size plus fees exceed your balance. Note that when using PERCENT size type, **size is expressed as a percentage of total balance**, not available. Meaning that orders might rejected when there are open orders or positions, even when the size is lower than 100%.&#x20;

### Open size is too small for exchange rules.

Each exchange and pair has its own rules for minimum order size. You cannot send an order whose size is below the minimum. For example, BTCUSDT on ByBit USDT Perpetuals has a minimum size of `0.001`, which accounts for roughly $24.5 at current rate. Sending an order whose size is smaller than this number will result in an error. Please note that some exchanges, such as Binance, have a minimum notional size as well. It means that there's a minimum of dollars an order needs to be worth in order to be executed.

### Maximum positions reached.

You can choose the maximum number of positions that can be open at the same time on an account in the [View Bots](https://wickhunter.io/viewBots) page. When the limit is reached, new signals will be ignored.

### Position is already open.

Wick Hunter ignores signals when the position is already open. For example, when BTCUSDT on the LONG side is open, incoming LONG signals for BTCUSDT will be ignored. You can use DCA signals (see Signal Wizard) to increase the size of an open position without incurring in this error.

### Existing pending open order for the same pair and side.

Signal was ignored because there is another open order for the same pair and side which is waiting to be filled. Following the same approach as the previous error, Wick Hunter will ignore incoming signals when an open order is already placed on the exchange.

### Cooldown timeout not expired.

You can set a cooldown timer for your signals, as explained in the View Bots section of the docs. Cooldown prevents multiple signals from being fired in a short period of time. You get the cooldown timer error when the signal was not executed because another signal has been recently fired and the timeout is not expired yet. You can adjust the timer in the View Bots page, where 0 indicates there should not be any cooldown at all.

### Isolation mode is active.

You can choose not to expose your account to excessive use of margin. This is an account level settings that can be set in the View Bots page. When the isolation mode error is thrown, the signal was ignored because used margin is already greater than the maximum chosen. Please note that DCAs do not count towards isolation mode.

### Advanced Mode enabled but missing risk profile.

You have enabled Advanced Mode but have not sent risk profile along with the signal. Normally, Wick Hunter requires users to only have one bot enabled for the same pair and side, so that it can find the bot configuration to use for a signal. With Advanced Mode, users get more flexibility with the ability to enable multiple bots for the same pair and side, but they need to send the risk profile in the signal payload to indicate Wick Hunter which configuration should be used. When this error message is shown, Advanced Mode is enabled (meaning there is more than one bot for the pair and side received), but you forgot to send the risk profile in the signal, therefore we do not know which bot should be used.

### Failed to open position due to exchange error.

This error can be thrown in several cases, such as

* **The exchange returned one of the above errors that we were not expecting**. In most cases, this message simply means we received a new, unknown error messages and therefore were not able to translate it to an easy to understand error message. **Before opening a ticket, we strongly suggest to go through the list of possible issues above to ensure you are not experiencing any of those.**
* The API key is not invalid or expired
* The API key has incorrect permissions which prevented Wick Hunter from sending orders
* The exchange returned an unexpected error

Wick Hunter has built-in system to minimize the impact of exchange side issues, however it is still possible that sometimes a request fails due to high load on their systems or other errors.

# FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.

#### Why am I not receiving signals from Trading View?

This generally happens when the signal has been incorrectly set up on Trading View. In order for a signal to be received and processed, it needs to be sent in valid JSON and to the right webhook URL. Please ensure the webhook URL is the one shown on our [Signal Wizard](https://wickhunter.io/wizard) page. Some common issues with Trading View are

* Incorrectly formatted JSON. You can use [JSONLint](https://jsonlint.com/) to verify whether your alert payload is correct. Note that a trailing space or adding a new line will result in an error. Please ensure there is not a space or new line after the last character of your payload on Trading View.
* Your strategy is not sending the correct payload. When this happens, Trading View logs show no content in the payload. In order to ensure an alert has been sent with the correct payload, you will need to see the alert payload (\`{"cmd": "OPEN"...\`) in your logs.
* You sent an incorrect UUID. This code is shown on the Signal Wizard page for the Open signal. It is a 14 characters alphanumerical code. When you send an incorrect UUID, you will not see the signal logged in our website.

All received signals will be shown in our [Logs](https://wickhunter.io/logs) page. When a signal does not show up in Logs, it means that it was not received by our platform and therefore there must be an issue in the way your strategy was set up.

#### How do I send signals from my own server?

For security reasons, we limit the source of signals to Trading View. You can request a **static IP** to be whitelisted by reaching out to the support team in Discord. Please note that we do not guarantee an IP will be whitelisted and we reserve the right to remove an address without notice were we to get an excessive number of signals or to find malicious content in your signals.

#### Does Wick Hunter support testnet?

We chose not to support testnet (paper trading) because of insufficient liquidity on testnet environments. We strongly suggest to backtest strategies and, most importantly, starting small and growing over time. Positive results on testnet does not mean positive results in real life.
